God Wants Us to be Interested in What Interests Him
by Duane Mabee on August 13, 2020I came across the following quote by Robertson McQuilkin in his book Life in the Spirit.
Most of us are quite self-centered in our prayers, using prayer to capture some of God’s power, if possible, to propel our personal interests. How sad, for all along the Spirit intended to use the channel of prayer for funneling blessing to others, especially to a world yet in darkness, Spirit-filled Christians are world Christians on their knees. As we companion with the Spirit throughout each day, we begin to see the world with His eyes and He catches us up into Himself until our heart beats with His. Robertson McQuilkin.
God wants to hear what is on our hearts. He wants us to tell Him about what we need and what we want. But He also wants us to be interested in what He values, otherwise, we become like selfish children.
Let’s become world Christians. Through prayer, let’s seek to make the request “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven” a reality. God has put a powerful spiritual weapon in our hands called prayer. Let’s use it to its full advantage.
