The Most Important Event Ever

Happy Easter!

Today, we celebrate what is by far the most important event that ever occurred.  The resurrection of Jesus Christ changes everything.  Hope was born when Jesus rose from the dead.  Eternal life became possible for us that day.  The resurrection made a way for us to be adopted into God’s family as His dearly loved children.  Easter communicates how much God loves us.

Speaking of the resurrection of Jesus, the Apostle Paul wrote:

"Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you— unless you believed in vain."

"For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that He appeared to [Peter], then to the twelve.  Then He appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep.  Then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles.  (1 Cor 15:1-7 ESV)."

"But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ — by grace you have been saved — and raised us up with Him and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages He might show the immeasurable riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.  For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Eph 2:4-9 ESV)."

Easter changes everything.  If you believe in Jesus and receive what He has done for you, it will change everything for you.
