“It doesn’t matter, really, how great the pressure is, it only matters where the pressure lies.  See that it never comes between you and the Lord – then, the greater the pressure, the more it presses you to His breast.” Hudson Taylor

Hudson Taylor, the pioneer missionary to China, wrote those words during a particularly difficult period of public opposition and financial stress.  Interesting thought, isn’t it?  It wasn’t the amount of pressure that was the problem.  Pressure only becomes a real problem when we allow it to separate us from Christ. 

We’re under pressure.  We have concerns.  Life is not turning out the way we thought it would, hoped it would, dreamed it would.  That is a problem, but it is not THE problem.  The real question is our response to the pressure. 

Regardless of what is happening, make sure you are drawing closer to Jesus.  Openly and honestly communicate with Him about how you feel and how the pressure is impacting you, but run to Him, not away.  Let the pressure press you to His breast.
